This week’s minor league roundup will only feature the numbers accumulated prior to the start of play on Tuesday.

This was the 12th week of minor league play.

According to FanGraphs (which factors in age and proximity to the big leagues), the overall top hitter in the Rays farm system has changed once again. 25-year old Tristan Peters continues to hold the top spot. The Rays originally acquired Peters from the Giants in a 40-man roster deadline deal following the 2022 season. Thus far in 2025, Peters is hitting .290/.377/.460 with 6 HR and 7 SB over 257 plate appearances, registering a 122 wRC+

Meanwhile, the top pitcher continues to be Ian Seymour. After a brief 2 inning stint picking up a victory in his big league debut, Ian Seymour has resumed his dominance of Triple-A hitters. His full season statline can be seen further below.

RUMBLINGS

  • Bob Seymour made in onto Baseball America’s Hot Sheet which showcases players who performed the best in the minor leagues over the last week.

Why He’s Here: .381/.480/.952 (8-for-21) 6 R, 1 2B, 1 3B, 3 HR, 9 RBIs, 4 BB, 1 SO
The Scoop: Seymour has weeks like this all the time. He’s responsible for three of the 12 hardest-hit balls in Triple-A this year and has seven 110+ mph home runs, including a 110-mph blast this past week. But for now, it is going to remain a challenge for him to carve out a regular role in the big leagues, as his defensive limitations work against him. Seymour has now hit 35 home runs in just 124 Triple-A games. That should get him to the majors eventually, but the path will be a tough one.

  • Eloy Jimenez began a rehab assignment in the Complex League on June 13th (he went on the Injured List on 5/17 with righ achilles tendinitis).
  • Yoniel Curet, Kodi Whitley, and Alex Cook are slated to begin rehab assignments
  • Richie Palacios restarted a rehab assignment on 6/14 after a brief break. Palacios has been on the Injured List since 4/18 with a knee sprain.
  • Ryan Shreve was signed to a minor league deal and assigned to Double-A Montgomery;

TEAM LEADERS

  • (minimum of 110 PA for hitters and 110 TBF for pitchers)
