Danny Jansen sends a souvenir into the stands
As you might have caught in Lizzie’s excellent recap of last night’s game, a Rays fan was delighted to catch a homerun ball from Danny Jansen — in her HAT!
On a 3-2 pitch with two outs in the eighth inning, Danny Jansen launched his fourth homerun of the year into the stands to put the game out of reach on Memorial Day. He had just nine homeruns in a down year at the plate last season.
All in all, the game had plenty of Memorial Day magic and good vibes, starting with this vintage poster, an excellent edition to the Rays media approach this season:

And Yandy Diaz decided to make a fan’s day by sliding a bat under the netting in the ninth:
The Rays will look to keep the good vibes rolling as they seek their seventh consecutive win tonight.
