TAMPA, FLA. (WFLA) — The Rays were battered by the Phillies 7-0 on Wednesday, dropping their overall record to 16-20 as they continued to struggle in multiple ways.
The most obvious struggle has been their offense.
“We are just completely out of sync. I mean, everybody is putting forth effort that is needed. They’re putting the work in behind the scenes leading into the game,” said Rays manager Kevin Cash.
Winning at their own ballpark has been a struggle. After the loss to Philly in game two, the Rays are 9-15 at Steinbrenner Field.
“This is where we’re most comfortable. This park has not been the hitter-friendly park that we were talking it up to be, so it’s just one of those things where we have to find a way to overcome that,” said Rays infielder Brandon Lowe.
