The Rays selected five players on night one of the MLB Draft, which covered through the third round. Today teams will make picks 4 through 20.

2025 MLB Draft: Rays select high school SS Daniel Pierce at No. 14 overall
Pierce, 18, hit .451/.605/.939 (37-for-82) with 10 doubles, three triples, eight home runs, 18 stolen bases and 33 walks against nine strikeouts as a senior at Mill Creek (Ga.) High School this past season. As a junior, the four-year letterman batted .345 with two home runs, 12 doubles, 25 RBI, 35 runs scored and 13 stolen bases en route to being named 2024 Region 8-6A Position Player of the Year. During Pierce’s sophomore season in 2023, he batted .434 with four home runs, 16 doubles, 25 RBI and 53 runs scored, earning first team all-county and all-region honors. Pierce was ranked as the No. 13 player in this year’s draft by MLB.com, No. 24 by Baseball America and No. 44 by FanGraphs. Baseball America also rated him as the No. 10 high school player in the draft, and MLB.com ranked him No. 7.
2025 MLB Draft: Rays select OF Brendan Summerhill No. 42 overall
Summerhill, 21, played three seasons at the University of Arizona and led the Wildcats to three conference championships, three NCAA Tournament appearances and a berth in the 2025 College World Series. As a junior in 2025, he hit a career-best .343 (58-for-169) with 12 doubles, six triples, four home runs, 34 RBI, 11 stolen bases and 35 runs on his way to being named an All-Big 12 Honorable Mention. During his sophomore season in 2024, he earned Pac-12 All-Conference honors after he led the team and ranked 14th in the conference with a .324 (77-for-238) batting average. Summerhill finished his college career with a .330/.434/.552 slash line over 124 games. The Chicago, Illinois native was ranked as the No. 16 player in this year’s draft by MLB.com, No. 22 by Baseball America and No. 38 by FanGraphs.
2025 MLB Draft: Rays select high school SS Cooper Flemming No. 53 overall in second round
Flemming, 18, is a Vanderbilt University commit. The six-foot-three, 190-pounder primarily played travel ball with the Baseball Performance Academy (San Juan Capistrano, Calif.) during his high school years but suited up for his senior season at Aliso Niguel (Calif.) High School and led the Wolverines to the CIF Division I Playoffs. He batted .407 (35-for-86) with seven doubles, three triples, six home runs, 27 RBI and 31 runs during his senior campaign en route to being named the Orange County Player of the Year and South Coast League Most Valuable Player. He was ranked as the No. 82 player in the draft by MLB.com.
2025 MLB Draft: Rays select high school OF Dean Moss at No. 67 overall
The 19-year-old Moss slashed .471/.615/.671 (33-for-70) with seven doubles, two triples, one home run, 16 RBI, 31 runs scored and 24 walks against four strikeouts over 25 games as a senior at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., helping the Ascenders to a 24-1 record and a MaxPreps national championship. The left-handed hitting Moss, an Atherton, California native and Louisiana State University commit, stands at six-foot, 180 pounds. In 2018, he made eight starts for the tournament-winning Team USA at the COPABE U-12 Pan-American Championships, leading the squad with 19 RBI while being named the tournament’s top first baseman.
2025 MLB Draft: Rays select high school C Taitn Gray at No. 86 overall in third round
The switch-hitting Gray, 17, batted .459/.628/1.148 (28-for-61) while adding five doubles, two triples, 11 home runs, 32 RBI, 32 runs scored, 29 walks and five strikeouts in 24 games during his senior campaign at Dallas Center-Grimes (Iowa) High School. The six-foot-four, 220-pound University of Oregon commit is the sixth catcher to be drafted by the Rays within the first three rounds, joining Nathan Flewelling (3rd, 2024), Chris Betts (2nd, 2015), Nick Ciuffo (1st, 2013), Justin O’Conner (1st, 2010) and Jake Jeffries (3rd, 2008).
