What would like see to enshrined in the Hall?
A special #StanleyCupJournal moment as @TBLightning CEO Steve Griggs presents @keeperofthecup’s Phil with a 2020 Championship Ring, and Craig with a puck from game five of the 2021 Stanley Cup Final, for donation to the Hall! @NHL #StanleyCup #GoBolts pic.twitter.com/47YtXWtGxX

It’s always nice to have artifacts from your favorite hockey team in the hallowed halls of the Hockey Hall of Fame, especially when the commemorate back-to-back Stanley Cups. Chances are there will be a special exhibit celebrating the Lightning’s recent dominance in the hall, so that begs the question – what other items would you add to the display?
For me personally, I would find a way to throw in the flak jacket that Nikita Kucherov wore in the Finals after sustaining a broken rib against the New York Islanders in the previous round. Despite the injury the Russian winger put up 5 points (3 goals, 2 assists) in 5 games.
I would also add Andrei Vasilevskiy’s goalie equipment from the entire playoffs as he was the biggest reason they’ve won back-to-back Cups. Plus maybe he would throw in a signed bottle of hair care product.
If we go back to the 2020 title, no exhibit would be complete without Pat Maroon’s fedora/scarf combo.
And, finally, just to to annoy the rest of the league, copies of Marian Gaborik and Anders Nilsson’s contracts that put the Lightning, let’s say it all together, $18 million over the cap.
What would you add to the display?
Imagine if you lived on Davis Island and had a Bolts banner outside of your house. Then imagine, a few days after the Lightning won the Cup, someone knocked on your window. When you opened your door you saw Pat Maroon and Ryan McDonagh outside your house. That would be a pretty good day, right? That’s what happened to Chris Pennington. That’s only the beginning of the story. [The Athletic]
Recent draft pick Cam McDonald is on the ice as the St. John Sea Dogs make their way through the preseason in the QMJHL.

Old friend Valtteri Filppula is heading to Europe. The veteran signed with Geneve-Servette of the Swiss Hockey League after 16 seasons in the NHL. At 37-years old it seems he still has some hockey left in him. Former Bolts Tanner Richard, Marc-Antoine Pouliot, and Joel Vermin play for the same club. Really? Vincent Lecavalier? That’s who they think was the Lightning’s worst free agent signing of the cap era? I get that he didn’t make it to the end of the deal, and he wasn’t the same player he was a few seasons earlier, but he still gave the Lightning four straight 20+ goal seasons and served as a mentor for a young Steven Stamkos. I mean, c’mon, if we’re using hindsight, how about the 7-year deal they signed Mattias Ohlund to? [Every NHL team’s worst free agent signing of the cap era]
Gritty ranked 21st? Yeah, he is going to take that really well. Thunderbug as 25th, eh, whatever. He’s the only mascot with back-to-back rings. [Best and Worst NHL Mascots, according to sports fans]
Best goalie pads ever? Yeah, I think so.
