Malik Fitts, a 6-foot-5 small forward from Brewster (N.H.) Academy, committed to South Florida on Tuesday.
The No. 55 small forward in the Class of 2016 according to 247Sports.com, he also considered Bradley, Washington State and New Mexico.
“What made me pick USF was that I thought it was the best fit for me and I believe that the team is going to be really good,” he said. “It’s somewhere I can play and help the team in anyway that I need too.
“I will bring my competitiveness. I’m going to play my hardest and if the coaches need me to go score or hit a big shot, I’m going to go do it. I’m really excited for the opportunity and I believe and know that the team is going to be solid.”
Fitts joins power forward Troy Baxter in head coach Orlando Antigua’s class.
“Malik is a versatile 2/3 who can really shoot the ball,” his former coach Ryan Silver said. “He is a good athlete who can really score.”
