The USF football team’s latest stunt to lure recruits to the program may have backfired in an embarrassing way.
USF is hosting 18 recruits this weekend, according to On3. Some prospects have already committed to the Bulls, whereas others are still undecided.
In an effort to convince these visitors to choose USF, the program had several Lamborghinis on their field for a photoshoot. However, these luxurious sports cars were quickly overshadowed by the abysmal field conditions.
The field at Raymond James Stadium looked like an utter mess. As a result, fans mocked USF for this poorly executed photoshoot.
“Let’s do a photoshoot on a grass field that hasn’t been maintained since football season ended,” one person wrote. “Embarrassing for USF.”
Another person said, “Instead of getting all those nice cars, why don’t they invest in some fertilizer and grass seed?”
“Grass looks like The Sandlot,” a fan tweeted.
“Pretty symbolic of the USF program when they’re dragging out Lambos for photo shoots when that’s what their home game field looks like,” a social media user added.

Better luck next time, USF.
This stunt should serve as a reminder to programs everywhere that you can’t just cover things up with shiny items.
