It makes that move extra sweet when you are in free agency and sign someone away from a divisional opponent. The Bucs have some needs at positions that other NFC South opponents are feeding the free-agent pool.
As it goes, PFF has named the Bucs’ ideal free agent signing, and it is someone from a division rival.
This week, PFF named their ideal free agent signings for all 32 NFL teams. Within the piece, they named Matthew Judon of the Atlanta Falcons as an ideal fit for the Bucs as their defense looks to take the next step.
They write, “. . .finding a cost-effective veteran to revamp their pass rush would prove to be a prudent move. Enter, Matthew Judon, who struggled in his time in Atlanta but still possesses the upside that warranted a third-round pick when the Falcons traded for him.”
The Falcons also have a need for a pass rusher and are drafting ahead of them. What better way to mess up their plans at building up a defense to stop the Bucs than by stealing away what is currently their best pass rusher?
Jason Licht and his crew could be in for something really fun this offseason.
