TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — WFLA’s Bucified Bert had a lucky encounter while visiting a Tampa Subway Wednesday.
Bert had been there Wednesday while paying respects to his late sister, a former employee at the location on Hillsborough Avenue, when he ran into Buccaneer rookie Shilo Sanders, son of NFL great Deion Sanders.
“I was like, shut up. What’s up?” Bert said.
After the 2025 NFL Draft, Shilo Sanders signed on with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent. His brother, Shedeur, was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the fifth round.
According to Bert, he wasn’t the only starstruck one.
“Oh my God, he asked for my autograph,” Bert said.
