We’re all well aware of the “Madden curse” at this point, right?
For a while there, it was believed that putting a player on the cover of EA Sports’ “Madden NFL” video game was a death knell for that player’s upcoming season, usually ending with a serious injury.
That hasn’t been the case in recent years, thankfully. But that’s not stopping this year’s involved parties from poking a little fun at the superstition.
After announcing that Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady and Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes would be sharing the cover of this year’s game, Brady and EA Sports had a little fun with the legend of the curse:

Maybe with his fancy new suit, Mahomes will be able to actually score a touchdown against the Bucs if they meet again in the Super Bowl this year.
