Joe Tryon is the newest member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after being selected 32nd overall in the first round on Thursday night. While he probably knew he was on the Buccaneers’ radar, he didn’t know he’d be drafted by the reigning Super Bowl champions until the call from general manager Jason Licht came through.
The Bucs shared a video of Licht and Bruce Arians calling Tryon to give him the good news, letting him know that he was going to be drafted by Tampa Bay. The video didn’t reveal much of what Tryon said on the phone to Licht or Arians, but the team was clearly thrilled to land him in Round 1.
“We’re looking forward to getting you in here and getting after the passer. Go enjoy it with your family because it’s a very special night and have a good time and get ready to come in here,” Arians told Tryon.
