The Buccaneers’ foray into the 2024 postseason ended quickly on Sunday as they lost 23-20 to the Commanders. For as much trouble as the Commanders gave them, the Bucs had just as big a problem getting past their own mistakes. Familiar problems on defense kept the Commanders in control of the game, and miscues on offense tanked whatever chance they had of taking control of the game themselves.
For the third straight year, the Bucs, under Todd Bowles, won the division and made the playoffs. However, as with the previous two seasons, Tampa Bay failed to make it past the divisional round. The Bucs have had the NFC South under their thumb but have been unable to capitalize on their divisional dominance. Changes may be coming for Tampa Bay this offseason.
