While the Chicago Bears are having one of the most phenomenal seasons in several years, they could lose trade candidate wide receiver DJ Moore this upcoming offseason. According to one source, Moore is listed as a top trade candidate this upcoming offseason as head coach Ben Johnson may look to change things around in the pass offense for quarterback Caleb Williams. Ever since Johnson joined Chicago this year, the hope was that Moore would get more opportunities in the aerial attack, but it hasn’t gone exactly as planned. Current No. 1 weapon, Rome Odunze, has emerged as the top receiver for this offense, and with Moore’s mental errors, it makes sense to consider a possible trade.

“Notable” Bears Trade Candidate Rome Odunze Could Be Available After 2025 Season
Since he turns 29 next year, he won’t fetch the best draft capital in return, but it would allow the Bears to find the next man up in the draft. Originally selected as a first-round pick, the former Maryland product should get some type of interest if the Bears do move on. He’s been the subject of trade rumors before, so that could become a real possibility.
Moore spent the first four seasons with the Carolina Panthers, establishing himself as a productive wideout, recording over 1,000 receiving yards in back-to-back seasons. Unfortunately, he has been slowing down in the system of what the Bears are building. If Johnson sees that Moore is no longer a fit, a trade would be their priority for the veteran, and these three teams could roll the dice on him.
Potential Fits
Kansas City Chiefs
The Kansas City Chiefs might not be out of the playoff picture just yet, but they’re close. The team must find a way to bring a spark to this former championship team, who is coming off a shocking loss to America’s team. Patrick Mahomes isn’t the same, and that might be hard to believe if you aren’t watching football.
Rashee Rice and Xavier Worthy would benefit from another receiver to add some speed. Moore might be on the older side, but he has the same versatility and elusiveness to break through defenders to bring some type of excitement in Kansas City again.
Pittsburgh Steelers
With the Steelers likely to rebuild depending on the status of Mike Tomlin and Aaron Rodgers this offseason, the team could trade for Moore. They’ve been able to find their long-term No. 1 weapon in DK Metcalf, but never found a true complement to him. While they claimed Adam Thielen, he’s retiring this offseason.
The Steelers acquiring Moore should give this offense a much-needed restart if they play their cards right to find a reliable quarterback if Rodgers retires.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The outlook for the Buccaneers’ offense as far as the veterans, doesn’t look good. After having some promise in the first quarter of the 2025 campaign, it has been falling apart slowly these past few weeks. Mike Evans is on the verge of retirement, and Chris Godwin has too many injury problems. Luckily, they’ve got Emeka Egbuka, but they should look into getting Moore in the offseason if they’re left with a void in their offensive pass-attack.
