On Friday night, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers promoted passing game coordinator Josh Grizzard to offensive coordinator. He replaces Liam Coen, who left for Jacksonville and their vacant head coaching position. Grizzard had been with the team for just one season before earning the promotion; before that, he was with the Miami Dolphins for an extended period.
During his time with the Dolphins, Grizzard worked with a quarterback that Bucs fans should know, and he is now endorsing the promotion.
Ryan Fitzpatrick, who played for the Bucs in 2017 and 2018, shared his thoughts on the hiring on social media. He wrote, “I was with Grizz in Miami for two years and knew he would get this chance at some point in the near future. . .”
Fitzpatrick, a Harvard alum, did share some disappointment with the Yale alum Grizzard.
“Despite his questionable decision making when selecting a college, I am really happy and excited for him and the Bucs.”
