After a rookie season that saw him overcome a knee injury and finish strong, Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Devin White quickly established himself as one of the NFL’s best players at his position after just two seasons.
White, who was named a captain heading into his second season in the league, was instrumental in leading a dominant Tampa Bay defense that helped the Bucs win their second Super Bowl in franchise history.
The rest of the league has taken notice, including fellow linebacker Devin Bush, who was also a first-round pick in the same draft class (via 247 Sports):
Me and D-White have been together for awhile, came out of high school and college in the same recruiting class, same NFL draft class, we have a good relationship. Haven’t caught up with him this offseason because of what I was going through, but I watched him while I was out. I thought he had a phenomenal year last year, obviously winning the Super Bowl. He’s on his way to being one of those guys that is going to be a terror as long as he wants to play.
White is still just scratching the surface of his potential, but his combination of physical and mental tools have quickly made him one of the league’s most dynamic defenders.
