TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Running back Rachaad White is in his fourth year in the NFL.
He’s also in the last year of his contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
“I want to be great. I want to be looked at as a guy who is a playmaker on the field,” White said.
White finished last season with 144 carries for 613 yards and three touchdowns. He’s been putting in work this offseason.
White had shed some weight this off-season. Right now, he’s at 212 pounds, which has allowed him to improve his game.
“I’m able to finish, please be able to get in and out of cuts, be better reactive, just playing ball. I think I pretty much feel like I got way better by losing weight,” said White.
Head coach Todd Bowles had White’s increased speed and agility through training camp.
“He looks quicker. He looks great back there returning puns. He looks great in the backfield. He’s our best blitz pickup guy. He’s moving well. I like where he is mentally and physically right now, his cuts are quicker. He’s always had great hands and great vision running the football,” said Bowles.
