The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are missing one of their top pass rushers at minicamp.
According to head coach Todd Bowles, Randy Gregory had an unexcused absence from minicamp and told the media that they’ll, “deal with it.”
Something must’ve come up that the Bucs didn’t see coming but they haven’t said exactly what it is. Because he missed the first practice with an unexcused absence, he’s subject to a $16,953 fine, per the NFL’s CBA. If he misses another practice, that number would more than double.
The Bucs signed Gregory to a one-year $3 million deal earlier this offseason and it can go up to $5 million if he hits all of his incentives.
Gregory spent part of the 2023 season with the San Francisco 49ers and the Denver Broncos. He was with the Broncos for four games before being dealt to the 49ers on October 6 of last year.
He spent 12 games with the 49ers, compiling 11 total tackles, and 2.5 sacks. Before that, he spent the 2022 season with the Broncos and four prior seasons with the Dallas Cowboys.
He’s appeared in 60 games, compiling 106 tackles, 22 sacks, 10 forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, an interception, and three passes defended.
