The Tampa Bay Buccaneers released a statement Tuesday night in response to the verdict in the Derek Chauvin murder trial in Minnesota.
“After today’s verdict, there still remains much work left to be done,” the statement reads. “We stand committed to breaking down barriers to racial and social equality. We will continue working to bring our communities closer together by engaging in purposeful conversations, mentoring youth, encouraging inclusivity and acceptance, and leading through meaningful action for comprehensive social justice reform.”
Chauvin was found guilty of both second-degree and third-degree murder, as well as second-degree manslaughter in the death of George Floyd.
