Joining a growing number of other NFL teams, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers players issued a statement through the NFLPA on Tuesday night, saying they will not participate in any voluntary offseason workouts.
Much like other statements released by other teams Tuesday, the Bucs players cite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, also pointing out that last year’s fully virtual offseason program was effective enough. Considering Tampa Bay won the Super Bowl, it’s hard to argue with that.
It will be interesting to see how many other teams join this chorus, and what response the league will have as those workout dates draw near.
