TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Want to skip the lines at Raymond James Stadium? The Tampa Bay Buccaneers say they have a solution.
This season, the Bucs rolled out its new “Express Entry” perk, which would give fans the ability to speedily get into Raymond James Stadium using facial recognition technology.
The way the perk works is by using a Ticketmaster account linked to your Buccaneers account and uploading a selfie.
Using biometric data, fans will then be allowed to use designated lanes at the Training Camp or Raymond James Stadium all season. The designated lanes will have tablets where you can take a selfie as well.
Those with guests who have not registered for Express Entry can simply tell the staff how many guests are with you, and they will be able to use the Express Entry lane as well.
These designated lanes will allow you to enter without scanning tickets or tapping your phone.
According to the Buccaneers website, the facial authentication technology is powered by Wicket and will encrypt your data, keeping it from being sold. Photos are also not stored on the tablets.
Wicket also worked with the University of Florida for a similar express entry program through Ticketmaster, reporting hundreds of opt-ins.
However, if you aren’t comfortable with facial recognition technology, you can still scan your tickets through the Buccaneers app or your digital wallet on your cell phone.
