TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The intensity was high at practice between the Titans and Bucs and Baker Mayfield was in the middle of it, but all in all Thursday was productive. Even in Mayfield’s eighth year in the league, he is making sure he’s getting better during the dog days of camp.
“Some good hits, some explosive plays. Did a good job in the two-minute situation before half scenarios getting down into field goal range, would love to score a touchdown, but ensuring we get three points out of that was the main goal. Complementary football gets everybody over there, defense goes over there in the same situation and gets a pic, so yeah, that’s good stuff,” Mayfield said.
The interception came from Hasson Reddick off of the NFL No. 1 overall draft pick Cam Ward, out of Miami, who credits the Bucs defense
“This is one of the best defenses out there in the league, so you know they gave us some good work,” said Titans quarterback Cameron Ward.
On the other side of the ball, Mayfield said one of the best treats on offense are his pass catch running backs.
“It’s a luxury for us because it creates massive mix matches, and especially where they’re at in pass protection in the knowledge of who they’re supposed to pick up,” Mayfield said.
