TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The Buccaneers are helping fans get ready for the team’s playoff match-up against the Washington Commanders, Sunday.
The Bucs hosted a drive-through rally Friday outside Raymond James Stadium. It’s the fifth year in a row the team has put together the event.
Thousands of fans received free team swag and treats. Corey Copeland brought his three kids to the rally.
“It’s great, they love it, they enjoy every moment of it with me,” he explained, “It is a really fun interaction with the Buccaneers and everybody in the community.”
Buccaneers Chief Operating Officer Brian Ford greeted fans in the line.
“This is fandom,” he said. “It’s our 4th division title, 5th time in the playoffs. This is Tampa, it’s an uplift. Earlier in the week we raised the banner down at city hall, this town is just unbelievable.”
The rally started at 5:30 a.m. Friday, and a steady line of fans drove through the giveaway line until 10 a.m. The event featured:
- Buccaneers cheerleaders
- Captain Fear
- Bucified
- Dunkin Donuts
Ford said they’ll hold a similar event ahead of every playoff game. The Bucs face off against the Commanders Sunday at Raymond James stadium.
