Whenever you work with someone for 17 years, there tends to be a fondness and connection that allows for positive results to keep occurring. In the case of Bucs head coach Todd Bowles and defensive line and run game coordinator Kacy Rodgers, that is especially true.
Despite a 17-year run together, it may be ending as Kacy Rodgers is scheduled to interview with the Green Bay Packers this week.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, the Packers have an opening for their defensive line coach position, and Rodgers is being brought in to interview for the role. Rodgers has been with Bowles for 17 years, as we mentioned, and he has found success with him during their run together.
Rodgers’ contract is up in Tampa Bay so it is possible that the key assistant on Bowles’ staff could leave. He could be the second key assistant to leave Tampa Bay this year if Liam Coen ends up earning the Jaguars head coaching position.
