TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have six selections in this year’s draft, with a pick in every round except the sixth.
Bucs head coach Todd Bowles has made it clear the team needs help on defense. It was safe to say the Bucs could very well take a player on defense in the first round.
But they ended up surprising everyone. The Bucs selected Ohio State wide receiver Emeka Egbuka as their first-round pick in the NFL draft.
Egbuka had a fabulous, four-year career at Ohio State that included him being named a team captain in 2024 and him helping the Buckeyes win the 2025 College Football Playoff national championship.
Tampa Bay’s 2025 draft order:
- Round 1, Pick 19, 19th overall
- Round 2, Pick 21, 53rd overall
- Round 3, Pick 20, 84th overall
- Round 4, Pick 19, 121st overall
- Round 5, Pick 21*, 157th overall
- Round 7, Pick 19, 235th overall
The 2025 NFL Draft began at 8 p.m. EST in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
