Tampa Bay is keeping another one of their own by re-signing OG Ben Bredeson to a three-year deal.

The Buccaneers have gotten to work just ahead of free agency, agreeing to terms on a new deal with guard Ben Bredeson. Per NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, Bredeson’s deal will pay him 22 million dollars over three years with 12.5 million guaranteed.

Bredeson, 27, started all 17 regular season games for Tampa Bay plus the team’s playoff game. He posted a 56.2 overall PFF grade last season and while that is a bit low, the film tells a different story.

Bredeson was signed last season from the New York Giants on a one year, three million dollar deal. The Bucs took the gamble on Bredeson and they got solid guard play, now Bredeson more than doubles his money just a year later.

The move allows Tampa Bay to keep their entire starting offensive line from 2024 in tact for the 2025 season. The unit was one of the best in the NFL, so definitely was one worth keeping together if they could. The market for guards in the NFL continues to rise and Bredeson did well for himself here, while the Bucs cross off a potential need they would have had if he had signed elsewhere.

It should be a busy couple of days for the Buccaneers with free agency about to begin, but they have their starting guard back for 2025 and beyond.
