The Tampa Bay Buccaneers reportedly added to their rotation of pass rushers for 2024.
On Wednesday, the team announced that it came to terms on a one-year deal with veteran outside linebacker Randy Gregory. The Bucs become Gregory’s fourth team in four years beginning his career in Dallas.
Last season the 31-year-old played in a total of 16 games between the Broncos and 49ers, finishing with 3.5 sacks, 10 quarterback hits and a pass deflection.
Gregory was a second-round pick of the Cowboys back in 2015 after a promising career at Nebraska. Off-field issues got in the way of a lot of his production early in his Dallas tenure but in 2021 he flashed the talent that many evaluators saw as a Husker.
In seven NFL seasons and 72 games between the Cowboys, Broncos and Niners, Gregory has logged 22 sacks, 69 QB hits and 27 tackles for loss.
Gregory joins a Bucs OLB group in need help after the release of Shaq Barrett last month. Yaya Diaby and Joe Tryon-Shoyinka are expected to be Tampa Bay’s starters on the edge.
Gregory will attempt to find a spot near the top of the depth chart along with Anthony Nelson, Markees Watts and Jose Ramirez.
