The Tampa Bay Buccaneers rode a star-studded roster to a Super Bowl victory last season, but their coaching staff was also no slouch.
From head coach Bruce Arians, to his impressive group of coordinators (Byron Leftwich, Todd Bowles, Keith Armstrong, Harold Goodwin), to a promising list of assistants, the Bucs had the best of both worlds on the field, the sidelines, and in the booth.
That said, Arians himself makes it clear that his players deserve the lion’s share of the credit for their success.
“There’s no doubt,” Arians said Sunday when asked about players leading the way on the best teams he’s coached in his career. “Players win games, coaches lose them. Without that, I’ve never seen a real good football team where a coach had to lead it. I’ve never been on one anyway.”
Arians has his entire starting lineup back from last year’s title team, which bodes well for their chances of repeating as Super Bowl champs.
