The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and general manager Jason Licht have done a good job of this NFL Draft thing in recent years. In 2024, they drafted four starters for their rookie year and are poised to get more in their second year.
Despite their hot draft class in 2024, the Bucs aren’t settling. According to Daniel Jeremiah of NFL Media, the Bucs are going to be adding another playmaker to their offense.
In his second mock draft of the cycle, NFL Media’s Daniel Jeremiah published his selections for the 2025 NFL Draft. His last mock draft came just before the Senior Bowl in January, and now this one comes on the horizon of the NFL Scouting Combine next week. With the Bucs’ first-round pick, Jeremiah has them selecting Arizona wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan.
You may be thinking “Don’t we already have Mike Evans and another receiver who is a breakout rookie named McMillan?” You know what? The Bucs do have those things. That being said, this is the argument Daniel Jeremiah made for the selection.
“McMillan could go earlier in Round 1, but Tampa Bay would be a perfect landing spot. Chris Godwin is due to become a free agent, and Mike Evans can’t play forever, can he?”
Ironically enough, Tetairoa McMillan is my top rated wide receiver and he reminds me a lot of Mike Evans. Both he and Evans are very big but slender wide receivers who use their size to their advanatge. They are both great after the catch so the idea of replacing Evans longterm with McMillan makes a lot of sense.
Would be a great get and value for the Bucs at pick 19.
