The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed a couple of veterans in free agency to help fill the void at cornerback following the trade of Carlton Davis III, but should that stop them from spending their top pick in the 2024 NFL draft at the same position?
That’s what happens in the latest 2024 NFL mock draft from CBS Sports, which has the Bucs landing Alabama’s Terrion Arnold with the No. 26 overall pick.
It’s hard to argue with this pick, considering the match of need and value it creates for Tampa Bay. Arnold is arguably the top cornerback prospect in this year’s class, so the opportunity to grab him that late in the first round might be too much for the Bucs to pass up.
Especially considering that the top prospects at other positions of need like offensive line (Graham Barton, Jackson Powers-Johnson) and outside linebacker (Chop Robinson) were already off the board, this pick would make a ton of sense for Tampa Bay.
